"People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do"

Steve Jobs, Rob Siltanen

AUSTRALASEAN

"We see what everyone else sees, but think what no one else has thought!"

AustralAsean Industries Pty Limited is an Asia Pacific business development and trading organisation, headquartered in Sydney, Australia. The company engages in developing business opportunities with a focus on international trade, technology, waste management, agribusiness, the environment, and renewable energy. Our credo is "We see what everyone else sees, but think what no one else has thought"

The key roles of AustralAsean are to promote and develop bilateral trade, tourism and business development between Australia and the Asia Pacific.

AustralAsean operates three subsidiary enterprises, Networked Consulting, a business advisory service, EcoTrade Asia which trades in various products and commodities such as OCC, silicon quartz, tungsten, scrap steel and other products and AustralAsean Events a business that operates trade shows, business travel and tours focused on the Asia Pacific.

In addition to trading and business development, AustralAsean provides advisory services to assist clients, develop, and manage their projects in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. We can assist our clients to "do business" anywhere in the region. We have distribution capability and representation across ASEAN. No job is too small, as we believe, often from small dreams come big realities.

We are the international distributor of Geo-Ionic patented road stabilisation compound, HydroNova™ floating hydroelectricity generation technology, and Dustonic Plus dust suppression formulaWe carefully select projects, based on whether they offer viable returns, by assessing the political, economic, and commercial characteristics influencing a project. We make sound commercial assessments, and are continually evaluating new innovative ideas and opportunities taking into account our investment criteria. We can move quickly and decisively to take advantage of dynamic situations.

We evaluate, conceptualise, and facilitate projects in collaboration with our partners and investors. Some projects are funded from AustralAsean's own resources while others are funded by investors and partners who have desired outcomes, priorities, and values, compatible with our own. We value our integrity and reputation above all else.

We work with iconic organisations, such as Ardtech Road Syndicate (Malaysia), Capvale Projects (Thailand), CBG Limited, DHL Logistics Solutions, Golf NSW, Wanless Waste, JK Williams, NMT Global Project Logistics, Project Innovations, Roy Medich Property Group, Suri Trading (Korea), United Nations, to name a few.

At AustralAsean we think laterally and we are not afraid to consider projects that others may feel a little too "different." In these matters, we defer to the wisdom of Steve Jobs Apple's co-founder, and we are inspired by his words, "people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do."  Be inspired watch Apple® video Think different.

Executive Director

Greg Evans serves as the Executive Director of AustralAsean, bringing with him a wealth of experience earned over a career spanning more than three decades. A self-proclaimed "serial entrepreneur," Greg has made significant contributions to various sectors.

His entrepreneurial journey began with Aymena Computer Group, where, starting in 1986, he transformed the company's turnover from $300,000 to approximately forty million dollars by the turn of the millennium. Greg's ventures extended to media with the founding and ownership of the Western Weekender Newspaper. Under his guidance, the publication expanded from 20 pages and a circulation of 20,000 in 1991 to 80 pages and a circulation of 60,000 by 2008.

Simultaneously, he launched additional mastheads in the Blacktown and Hawkesbury regions of Western Sydney and assumed control of the widely read real estate magazine, the Australian Acreage Review.

In 1997, Greg took charge of a distribution business from a failed multinational computer hardware and software supplier, successfully turning it around to become Apple's largest Australian distributor within two years.

Greg's commitment to community service is evident through his role on numerous boards, including Panthers (Australia’s largest Licensed Club), the University of Western Sydney, and Western Sydney TAFE. A nine-year tenure as a Penrith City Councillor and his recognition by the NSW Government for contributions to economic development, by his appointment to the Western Sydney Economic Development board for consecutive terms further highlight his credentials.

An adept networker and communicator, Greg is proficient in English, Thai, Lao, and has a working knowledge of Malay and Indonesian. With extensive experience in both commercial and public sector boards, he has built connections with political, community, and business leaders nationally and internationally.

While Greg's early career in information technology showcased his logical problem-solving skills, his transition to the sales and marketing environment allowed him to hone his lateral thinking abilities, enabling him to excel at "thinking outside the square."

In his role as a business facilitator, Greg enjoys tackling challenges, whether working on AustralAsean's projects or assisting others in achieving success. As the leader of several other businesses within the group, Greg is a valuable asset for those with ideas, dreams, business projects, or developments, offering experienced advice to turn aspirations into reality.

John, is a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM) with considerable experience in new product development, international product sales, branding, acquisitions, post-merger-integration management, business turnaround, strategy, marketing, planning, and implementation.

John gained broad experience in his early working career, through the ownership and development of a number of businesses. The combination of both substantial experience in the field, tertiary qualifications, and is a graduate of Bond University, gave him a significant depth of knowledge and background.

His significant previous corporate roles began when he joined the Boral Timber Division in 1980 and spent 19 years with the industry leader. He served in roles of increasing responsibility; his final position was General Manager Sales and Marketing, with a primary focus on creating strategic business development opportunities, both in Australia and internationally. During the latter years and at its peak, the Boral Timber annual sales were $316 million and it employed 1540 people.

John was a member of the evaluation team; a role requiring the assessment of the strategic fit of acquired businesses, including post-merger-integration management. In 1995, John was invited to join the Board of Directors at the Boral Employees’ Credit Union Ltd and he remained as a director until the credit union was acquired by the Prospect Credit Union (now the Sydney Credit Union) in 1997.

Drawing on his experience at Boral Timber, John established a timber wholesaling company, TimberLink in 1999. Following this, in September 2001, came the genesis of Corporate Rescue Australia. Its focus is to serve the general welfare of the community by assisting small to medium enterprises (SME’s) in change management leadership, reconstruction, and organisational restructuring.

Turnaround management is a unique skill set. It not only applies to distressed companies’, it can help in any situation where a general change in direction needs to be implemented. In this business, overall ability and experience in corporate recovery and reconstruction are crucial, if-not critical.
